Islamabad, Feb 12: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) closed lower against the US Dollar (USD) today, after opening at 280 in the interbank market. The exchange rate fluctuated between 279-281/$ throughout the day before settling at 279.25, marking a depreciation of 0.03 percent, a loss of nine paisas from the previous day. In the open market, rates hovered between 279-282 for the day. The rupee’s downtrend continued, not only against the US Dollar but also against other major currencies. On a fiscal year-to-date basis, the rupee has depreciated by 0.33 percent.

Immigration officials reported that Saudi Arabia deported five individuals, with three being blacklisted. The UAE deported a total of 16 individuals, including one who was denied entry, 11 who were released from prison, and four who had overstayed their visas.
