The introduction of Direct To Home (DTH) service has the potential to create approximately 20,000 jobs in the private sector in Pakistan within a short period and prevent the outflow of millions of USD to India. The implementation of DTH…

In 2009, developed nations committed to raising $100 billion annually by 2020 to assist low-income countries in transitioning to clean energy and addressing the escalating impacts of climate change. After more than a decade,…
The International Labour Organization (ILO) announced on Wednesday that the global unemployment rate is projected to decrease slightly to 4.9 percent in 2024 from 5.0 percent in 2023, despite ongoing inequalities in labor markets. In January, the ILO had initially anticipated a rise in unemployment to 5.2 percent, particularly in advanced economies. The adjustment is primarily attributed to lower-than-expected unemployment rates reported so far this year in China, India, and high-income countries, according to the agency. However, the decline in unemployment is expected to plateau in 2025, with the rate remaining at 4.9 percent. Global economic growth has exceeded expectations…

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has ceased funding for provincially chartered universities following a substantial reduction in the federal government’s grant, slashed from 65 billion to 25 billion rupees. This decision has prompted the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) and the Karachi University Teachers Society (KUTS) to schedule a protest on May 30 against the funding cut. Despite HEC’s request for 126 billion rupees for 160 universities nationwide, the federal government’s budget cut has severely limited HEC’s funding capacity.
