The upper regions of Diamer district have witnessed fresh snowfall as winter conditions begin to intensify. According to Deputy Commissioner Diamer Atta ur Rehman Kakar snowfall continued throughout the night at Babusar Top Nanga Parbat and Batogah Top. The temperature in these high altitude areas dropped sharply and the snow began to settle on the road and surrounding valleys.

The snowfall has brought a beautiful sight across the region with mountain peaks covered in white layers. However the weather change has also affected road travel and safety in the area. Locals and tourists have been advised to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel to high altitudes during this period.

More than eight inches of snow has been recorded at Babusar Top. Due to this the authorities have temporarily closed the Babusar Road for traffic to prevent accidents and ensure traveler safety. The administration has started monitoring the situation and will take steps for clearing the road once weather conditions become stable. Travelers who were planning to use Babusar Road to travel between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan are advised to use alternative routes. The closure is temporary and will be lifted once the snow is cleared and the road becomes safe for movement.
