The country continues to welcome overseas workers in sectors like construction, healthcare, finance, hospitality, education, and oil and gas.

A Bahrain work visa allows foreign nationals to live and work in the Kingdom under the sponsorship of a registered Bahraini employer. The most common visa is issued for two years and is renewable.

Visa Application Process

The Bahrain work visa process starts when an applicant accepts a job and signs a contract. The employer than submits documents to the LMRA after which a permit is issued electronically. In the end, employer arranges a visa for the worker to enter Bahrain. Once all necessary steps are done, the employee may begin to work legally.

The visa is usually valid for two years and can be renewed. If a worker decides to leave or change jobs, the visa must be properly canceled by the employer.
