The cabinet of Balochistan stopped new hires from universities and established a special committee to examine the Public Sector Universities Act and compare it with other provinces’ laws.
It was decided to form this special committee at a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti. The provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Buledi, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Bakht Khan Kakar, and the secretary of the department of higher education make up the committee. Within seven days, they have to provide recommendations.
CM Bugti regretted that despite continuous hiring and building projects, universities did not have enough money for salaries. He noted that changes are being made for the benefit of different departments and underlined that the province administration is working to build good governance and enhance service delivery in the province.
