The government of Balochistan has made the decision to provide scholarships for over 400 children of laborers to attend universities across the country this year. Two hundred youngsters have already been registered by the Labour and Manpower Department, and another two hundred will be registered by July 15.
This choice was decided on Wednesday during the Labour and Manpower Department’s review meeting, which was presided over by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. During the conference, the kids Skills Development Program’s progress was evaluated. It was discovered that the first group of skilled kids from Balochistan will be transported overseas by March 2025, while the unskilled workers will follow in December 2025.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Secretary Labour Welfare, Director General B-TEVTA, and adviser to the chief minister on labor and manpower, Sardar Ghulam Rasool Ummrani. The Youth Skills Development Program should be implemented as soon as possible, according to the Chief Minister, in order to guarantee job chances following skill training.
Additionally, Bugti ordered the Kuchlak Driving School to be operationalized right once, and B-TEVTA was entrusted with teaching 100 people how to drive in the first phase so they could find work in Oman. In order to save money on social security, he brought attention to the fact that industrial owners underreport their labor force, underscoring the importance of precise data gathering via a unique survey conducted by the Labor Department.
Bugti denounced the exploitation of workers who are frequently paid less than the wages set by the government and emphasized efforts to integrate laborers into social security programs and safeguard their welfare. Advisor Ummrani reaffirmed the Chief Minister’s pledge to improve worker registration efforts and offer technical training in line with his vision.
