Islamabad, July 21, 2025: A Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed on Monday into a school in northern Dhaka, killing one person and injuring many others, as confirmed by military and rescue officials.
The Bangladesh Army’s public relations office confirmed that the plane was an F-7 BGI jet used for training by the Air Force. A short statement said “Bangladesh Air Force’s F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed in Uttara. The aircraft took off at 13:06 (0706 GMT).”
The crash took place at Milestone School and College, located in the Uttara area of the city. Students were in when the aircraft suddenly hit the building.
Eyewitnesses and TV footage showed flames and thick smoke rising from the school. Early reports say the jet struck the roof of the school’s cafeteria, causing a massive fire.

According to Jamuna TV, at least 13 people were injured, including students. Bengali newspaper Prothom Alo stated that most of the injured were school children who suffered serious burns. Around 20 people were taken to the hospital for treatment.
In unrelated incidents, a plane crash at London Southend Airport in the UK on July 13 killed four people during takeoff. Another deadly crash occurred on June 12 near Ahmedabad, India, where around 300 people lost their lives.
