Harry Kane and Luis Diaz were on target as Bayern triumphed by 2-1 in their away game against Stuttgart on Saturday, and claimed their 10 th Super Cup title in Germany. This match, subsequently transformed into a tribute to the Franz Beckenbauer who had died in 2024 and renamed, was the traditional curtain-raiser to the new season.

Michael Olise and Kane reunited a year later in partnership and scored Bayern opener after 18 minutes. Misjudgling his next touch, Kane did however manage to steer the ball in the bottom corner, scoring his 86th goal in 97 games in a Blauw-Zwart shirt.

Stuttgart also could not match Bayern as Jamie Leweling scooped one back during stoppage time. The win was Kane second big trophy in the team following last season Bundesliga crown.

A “deserved win” was how captain Joshua Kimmich celebrated after the game and said Bayern had to earn the victory over Stuttgart the right way. Leipzig face the Bavarians in their Bundesliga opener on Friday, and the former face Stuttgart on Saturday.
