Islamabad, 13 May, 2025: BCCI has yet to confirm the venues for the playoffs of IPL 2025, including Qualifier 1, the Eliminator, and the Final.
However, reports from Indian media suggest that Narendra Modi Stadium is a strong contender to host both Qualifier 2 and the Final, scheduled for June 1 and 3, respectively.
The delay in confirming the locations is primarily due to concerns over the monsoon season, with the BCCI closely monitoring weather patterns across the country.
The board aims to ensure that rain does not interfere with the crucial stages of the tournament.

Current forecasts indicate that Ahmedabad is expected to remain dry in early June, making it a favourable option for these high-stakes matches.
In contrast, Mumbai, which is also being considered for Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, has seen persistent rainfall and overcast conditions, raising doubts about its suitability.
The BCCI’s final decision will depend on how the monsoon progresses.
If conditions are more stable in northern cities like Delhi, Jaipur, or Lucknow, these locations may become viable alternatives for the first two playoff matches.

A new city is unlikely to be added to the playoff schedule, with venues expected to be selected from the six cities hosting the remaining league matches.
Logistical factors, such as the transportation and setup of broadcast infrastructure, are also key considerations in the venue selection process.
This has led to the exclusion of cities like Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mohali/Dharamsala, which posed logistical challenges.
