Islamabad, June 5, 2025: At a UN press briefing in New York, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made a sarcastic shot at Indian PM Narendra Modi, calling him a “Temu version” of Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu. The comment, blending political critique with a reference to the Chinese budget-shopping app, quickly ignited social media.

“Mr Modi is sort of the Temu version of Netanyahu, so it’s a poor copy, and we call the Indian government to not be inspired by the worst example possible.” Bilawal joked.

The comparison instantly went viral, with memes and witty reactions flooding platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Netizens across Pakistan cheered Bilawal’s wordplay, lauding his ability to defend Pakistan’s position on international platforms with composure and boldness.

One user posted, “From the ‘butcher of Gujarat’ to a Temu Netanyahu — Bilawal doesn’t miss!” Others praised his delivery, calling him “eloquent and diplomatic” and “a speaker fit for the global stage.”

“Bilawal Bhutto just humiliated Modi at the UN — first with the RSS tag, now calling him a cheap copy of Netanyahu,” one comment read. Several echoed similar thoughts, crediting Bilawal with commanding presence and sharp articulation.

Some users even turned the heat on Temu, joking that the app might collapse under the unwanted comparison. “Temu right now: crying in a corner,” one tweet read.
