Islamabad, May 8, 2025; In the wake of escalating military tensions between Pakistan and India, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has officially postponed today’s scheduled exams.

This urgent move, confirmed by the BISE Lahore spokesperson, directly impacts thousands of students across the province.

The postponed papers included the Inter Part II Islamiyat (Elective) and Principles of Accounting theory exams, as well as the Computer Science practical for Matric students.

These crucial assessments were planned for today but could not be held due to the rapidly intensifying security situation.

The BISE representative assured that a revised exam schedule will be shared with students and institutions in the coming days.

“Student safety is our top priority,” the spokesperson said, urging candidates to stay updated through official channels.

This academic disruption follows high-alert military actions along the Line of Control. According to official sources, the crisis flared up after India conducted airstrikes at various sites within Pakistan, allegedly in retaliation for the deaths of over two dozen tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

India has pointed fingers at Pakistan; a claim Islamabad has categorically rejected.

In a swift counter-response, Pakistan’s armed forces reportedly downed five Indian Air Force jets, intercepted a surveillance drone, and demolished a brigade command center—marking one of the most intense military exchanges in recent years.

Comparatively, past incidents of cross-border tension have disrupted civilian life, but exam postponements signal a deepening crisis that’s now affecting the education sector.

Analysts warn that further escalation could impact other scheduled board activities across Punjab.
