Islamabad, 23 May 2025: Bolan Castings has once again extended the temporary closure of its manufacturing operations as the slump in the tractor industry shows no sign of recovery.

This marks the second formal suspension announcement by the company in just over a month, reflecting deepening concerns in the agricultural machinery supply chain.

In a recent notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, Bolan Castings confirmed that its production activities will remain suspended until June 13, 2025.

The decision stems from persistently low demand, particularly from its core customer base in the tractor manufacturing sector.

The company previously announced a shutdown in early May, citing a lack of incoming orders. Despite the passage of several weeks, the situation remains unchanged, with the firm noting that the challenging business climate it highlighted on May 9 has not improved.

As a major supplier of essential components to local tractor manufacturers, Bolan Castings is directly impacted by the broader slowdown in the agricultural equipment industry.

Falling tractor sales driven by economic strain, reduced farmer incomes, and tighter credit availability have led to diminished demand for parts and assemblies.

This prolonged inactivity at Bolan Castings underscores the cascading effects of economic stress on ancillary industries.

With macroeconomic headwinds such as inflation, currency volatility, and reduced rural purchasing power, both the agriculture and auto sectors are struggling to maintain production levels.

At present, Bolan Castings has not outlined a definitive date for the resumption of normal operations.

Company officials have refrained from offering a forecast, instead stating that further decisions will depend on a material improvement in customer demand and overall market conditions.

With no immediate rebound in sight, Bolan Castings continues to monitor the market environment closely.

This ongoing shutdown highlights the fragile state of Pakistan’s industrial supply chain, particularly in sectors closely tied to agricultural output and rural consumption.
