Islamabad, May 6, 2025: A promising young cricketer, 24-year-old Aleem Khan, died after suffering a cardiac arrest during a domestic cricket match in Bannu.
According to media reports, the incident occurred on May 5 during a two-day fixture of the PCB Challenge Cup.
Khan, a fast bowler representing his local side, collapsed unexpectedly while delivering a spell. On-field officials and teammates immediately called for medical assistance.
He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but doctors were unable to revive him.

Umpire Inamullah Khan, who was officiating the match, recalled the shocking moment, stating that Aleem fell while bowling and was immediately rushed to medical care.
However, despite swift action, efforts to save him were unsuccessful.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed its condolences, with Director of Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi describing Khan’s passing as a tragic loss.
He extended sympathies to the young player’s family, acknowledging the difficult time they are facing.
Aleem Khan, a resident of Bannu, had shown promise in domestic circuits and was known for his pace and dedication to the sport.
