Islamabad, June 25, 2025: Fans were in for a nostalgic treat as Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise made a rare joint appearance at the F1 movie’s European premiere in London on June 16.
Pitt wore a green suit, while Cruise showed up in a charcoal gray one. The two actors haven’t been seen together at a public event like this in years. In fact, they haven’t worked on a film together since Interview with the Vampire, which came out over 30 years ago.
Although Cruise isn’t part of the cast, there is a reason Cruise made an appearance. F1 is directed by Joseph Kosinski, the same person who made Top Gun: Maverick with Cruise in 2022. Kosinski once planned a racing film with both Cruise and Pitt, but it didn’t move forward because of budget issues.
Their red carpet moment caused a buzz online. Fans called it “Hollywood history” and were thrilled to see them together again.
Tom Cruise has been excited about F1 for a while. At CinemaCon this year, he talked about Pitt’s driving skills. “He’s a great driver,” Cruise said. “Back when we filmed Interview with the Vampire, we used to race go-karts after work. He was fast.”
Pitt admitted that he lost those go-kart races to Cruise. When asked if they’d ever act together again, Pitt laughed and said he was open to it — but added, “I’m not hanging off any airplanes like he does.”

In the film, Pitt takes on the role of Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who returns to the track to coach a young racer. To add authenticity, the film was shot during actual Formula One events, including iconic circuits like Silverstone and Spa, with real race footage woven into the action.

Alongside Pitt, the cast includes Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, and Kerry Condon, all contributing to the film’s high-octane energy and emotional depth. F1 will be released in theaters on June 27, 2025.
