Islamabad, 8 May, 2025: British Council officials have announced the cancellation of all afternoon examinations scheduled for Thursday, 8 May 2025, in Lahore, following rising safety concerns across the city.
The decision affects a range of assessments, including GCE, IGCSE, IELTS, and University of London exams, all of which were planned for the post-midday session.
In a public notice shared on the social media platform X (previously known as Twitter), the British Council confirmed that the cancellations were made in consultation with associated examination boards.
It was emphasized that the safety of students and examination staff remains the top priority under the current circumstances.
