Islamabad, Aug 15, 2025: Mahnoor Cheema, an exceptional 18-year-old British-Pakistani student, has made history by completing 24 A-Level subjects with top distinctions, breaking four world records in the process.

This remarkable achievement adds to her previous GCSE successes, giving her six global academic records—the highest ever recorded by a secondary school student. Mahnoor has now earned a place at the prestigious University of Oxford to pursue Medicine.

Her first record is for completing the largest number of individual A-Level subjects with distinction—24 subjects plus an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)—all through a single exam board without repeating any components.

The second record celebrates her unmatched tally of top grades in A-Levels, with 19 A* and A scores. Combining her 11 new A* grades in A-Levels with her prior 34 A* GCSE/O-Level grades, she set a third record for the highest total A grades ever by a secondary student worldwide*, totaling 45 A* grades.

Mahnoor’s fourth record recognizes the highest total number of individual subjects passed with distinction, reaching 58 across A-Levels and GCSEs. By the age of 16, she had already completed 34 GCSE subjects, earning 17 A* grades in Year 10 alone, marking her fifth and sixth world records.

Speaking from her home in Langley, West London, Mahnoor said, “Being accepted into Oxford is a dream realized. I’m excited for this next chapter, and I owe it all to my parents’ unwavering support and sacrifices.”

Born to Lahore natives Barrister Usman Cheema and Tayyaba Cheema, Mahnoor relocated to the UK in 2006. She studied at Langley Grammar School and Henrietta Barnett School before switching to homeschooling for her final year.

Her extraordinary accomplishments have been recognized by top leaders, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who described her as “the daughter of the nation” and gifted her a MacBook, which helped her prepare for Oxford interviews.

Beyond academics, Mahnoor earned an AMusTCL diploma in music at age 16, equivalent to a university degree. She also received gold medals in Acting and Public Speaking from LAMDA and completed her EPQ in just 10 days with a perfect score.
