Islamabad, May 31, 2025: Washington Sundar and Sai Sudharsan had built strong momentum for Gujarat Titans (GT) in their chase of 229-run target against Mumbai Indians (MI). The duo had laid a solid foundation, keeping GT in the chase.
However, the tide turned when Jasprit Bumrah made a sensational delivery that changed the course of the game.

Bumrah sent down a blistering yorker that crashed into Washington Sundar stumps, ending his knock just two runs short of what could have been his first IPL half-century. Sundar had earlier come close to a fifty this season as well, when he struck 49 off 29 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their Hyderabad fixture.
His dismissal broke an 84-run third-wicket stand that came off just 44 balls, offering MI a crucial breakthrough and swinging the momentum back in their favour.

GT remain in the chase for 229 to win and keep their playoff hopes alive. However, Mumbai Indians win the game and qualify for next round.

Now MI will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 2 on Sunday, June 1. Whoever wins that encounter will advance to the IPL 2025 final, where they’ll take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Tuesday, June 3.
