In October, BYD delivered 500,526 electric passenger vehicles, a 66% increase from the 301,095 units delivered in the same month the year before. Additionally, this number is a 20% increase over the 417,603 units sold in September.
BYD sold 3,236,927 electric cars between January and October 2024, a 36% increase over the same time the previous year. Although the business dismissed speculations that it will raise the goal to 4 million, BYD’s 2024 ambition is to sell 3.6 million vehicles.
New Energy cars (NEVs), including plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and all-electric cars (BEVs), make up BYD’s sales. 31,192 NEVs were sold internationally by BYD, with 28,012 of those units having already been exported. With a year-to-date capacity of 148.738 GWh, BYD’s energy storage and EV battery installations for October totaled 21.018 GWh.
Plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) increased to 62.1% of October sales, while the company’s all-electric car share decreased little to 37.9%. In October, BYD sold 189,614 BEVs and 310,912 PHEVs, with PHEV sales still surpassing BEV sales since February.
