The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is a targeted power subsidy program that the federal government is developing for implementation in low-income families.
The Federal Cabinet is now considering this proposal, which would replace a general, unfocused subsidy with one that would just help poor power users, according to Business Recorder.
A plan to identify and support eligible families has been created by the Power Division in partnership with BISP. Using predetermined criteria, BISP will use its National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) database to identify possible recipients. This procedure entails counting the quantity of subsidies that will be given out and figuring out whether families have registered power connections.
