Islamabad, July 22, 2025: A heart-wrenching tragedy happened during Islamabad flood in DHA Phase 5 where a car carrying a father, Colonel (retd) Ishaq Qazi, and his young daughter was swept away by sudden floodwaters following intense monsoon rain.

Eyewitnesses reported that a strong rush of water suddenly hit the area, leaving them trapped inside the vehicle with no way out.

Rescue efforts are under ongoing and teams are searching the area for both the vehicle and the missing individuals. So far, there has been no update about their safety or the car’s location.

In light of the severe weather Rescue 1122 has issued a high alert warning residents of the possibility of more heavy rainfall across Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Emergency measures are being taken to address any potential threats.

District Emergency Officer Sibghatullah stated that boats and other critical equipment have been stationed near the Soan River and other vulnerable locations to deal with any emergencies. He added that special teams are actively working to handle flash floods across the region.

Authorities have also declared a rain emergency and imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi, prohibiting activities that might worsen the situation.
