Islamabad, July 24, 2025: Many big car companies in Pakistan are under fire after they failed to deliver cars to buyers on time — even after taking full advance payments. Buyers who waited for months are now facing a big loss of over Rs. 3.25 billion, as per sources.

Reports confirmed that more than 86,000 vehicles were delivered late across the country. However, the government 2021 policy says companies must deliver cars within 60 days, but if the failed to so, then under the KIBOR policy, the company must have to pay a +3 percentage for the delay, which applies to the total price of the car.

The top companies involved are:

  • Honda Atlas Cars delivered 10,241 cars late, causing over Rs. 26.5 crore in losses to customers.
  • Hyundai Nishat Motors delivered 6,724 cars late, leading to a loss of Rs. 44 crore.
  • Indus Motors (makers of Toyota) gave 13,630 vehicles late, making up Rs. 40 crore.
  • Pakistan Suzuki Motors topped the list with 33,847 delayed deliveries, equal to Rs. 72 crore.
  • KIA Lucky Motors also delayed 3,400+ cars, worth around Rs. 8 crore.
  • Regal Automobiles delivered 16 cars late, with a smaller loss of around Rs. 5.24 lakh.

Despite such big delays and losses, no major penalty or notice has come from government authorities. The silence of institutions has shocked many affected buyers.

Meanwhile, some companies reportedly delivered on time. These include:

  • United Motors
  • Gandhara Nissan
  • Alhaj FAW Motors
  • Engineering Works (likely a local assembler)

Consumers and auto experts are now demanding clear action and strict policies. They say companies should not be allowed to take full payments unless they are ready to deliver on time.

This issue has again raised questions on car booking practices in Pakistan and the need for better laws to protect buyers.
