Islamabad, Mar 2, 2025: The groundbreaking ceremony for the Competition Commission of Pakistan’s (CCP) head office building will mark a significant milestone. Deputy Prime Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar will officiate the ceremony, which is set for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 4.
Key stakeholders, such as federal secretaries, corporate leaders, regulatory agencies, and legislators, will be present at the event. A cutting-edge, intelligent structure including contemporary technology, energy-saving features, and green areas will house the new CCP headquarters. It will improve the effectiveness of operations.

“This building is more than just bricks and mortar; it signifies a financially stable CCP.” Highlighting the significance of this landmark, Chairman CCP, Dr. Kabir Sidhu, said, “After structure of the head office, we will expand our presence in major cities across the country.”
In 2024, CCP resolved 73 court cases, issued 32 show-cause notices across fertilizer, real estate, education, public procurement, and pharmaceuticals; launched seven new inquiries into transportation, telecom, construction, and FMCG.
Additionally, the Commission operationalized its Market Intelligence Unit (MIU), which used sophisticated data analysis to find over 200 cases of anti-competitive behavior. To support the growth and dynamics of the market, the Commission is also conducting research in important areas and evaluating its legal and regulatory framework.
