Islamabad, Sep 30: CDA and Guizhou Province Discuss Big Data Collaboration and Tier-Four Data Centers in Virtual Meeting. A virtual meeting was held via Zoom between the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province, China, aimed at exploring opportunities for collaboration in the field of big data and the establishment of Tier-Four Data Centers in Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by the Chinese Foreign Affairs officers and representatives of leading Chinese companies, alongside Acting Chairman CDA, Talat Mehmood Gondal, Member Technology and Digitalization Nauman Khalid, and other senior officials from Pakistan.
During the meeting, Acting Chairman Talat Mehmood Gondal emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure and welcomed Chinese investment in the country’s rapidly growing digital economy and the big data.
Member Technology and Digitalization Nauman Khalid highlighted that Pakistan offers immense potential in the field of big data and digitalization, and we are excited to collaborate with our Chinese counterparts to bring cutting-edge technology and expertise to Pakistan. The partnership between the two sides will be instrumental in positioning Pakistan as a hub for big data innovation.
The Chinese companies, represented by senior executives and officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province, expressed strong interest in Pakistan’s digital transformation initiatives and gave a detailed briefing on their expertise.
China is eager to invest in Pakistan’s big data sector and assist in the development of Tier-Four Data Centers. They see Pakistan as a strategic partner in the digital economy, and they are committed to providing expertise, technology, and financial support to help drive this collaboration forward.
Both sides agreed to continue their engagement to enhance their cooperation. It was decided that the Chinese side will submit concrete proposals for collaboration in the field of big data, and a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be prepared and shared with CDA through the Foreign Office.
This MoU will outline a framework for long-term cooperation between Pakistan and Chinese firms in the field of big data, with the goal of strengthening digital infrastructure and driving innovation.The meeting reflects the growing bilateral relationship between Pakistan and China, underscoring mutual interests in technology, investment, and the digital economy.
