Islamabad, Aug 21: Asif Shirazi, the country director of Islamic Relief Pakistan, and Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), met on Wednesday to talk about how they could work together to combat climate change and build Islamabad.Randhawa commended Islamic Relief for its contributions, especially its environmental projects, to Pakistan’s progress since 1992.He emphasized CDA’s planting campaigns, particularly in Margalla Hills, and the creation of the Climate Change Fund to save the environment in Islamabad.
The meeting’s main topic was combating climate change, and topics covered included efforts to supply Islamabad’s expanding water needs.While Islamic Relief indicated a willingness to work with CDA’s development partners, the World Bank and International Development Bank, CDA provided technical expertise to handle the water problem. Both institutions reaffirmed their dedication to cooperating to safeguard Islamabad from the consequences of climate change and transform it into a modern metropolis.
