ISLAMABAD: (PR: Dated May 5, 2025): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa reviewed parking arrangements for officers, employees, and visitors at the Pakistan Secretariat where he was given a comprehensive briefing. Member Planning, Member Environment, DG Works, and other officials were present on the occasion.

Chairman CDA stated that to address the city’s traffic issues new roads and underpasses are being constructed, parking plazas are being developed and major arteries including Expressway, Margalla Road, Club Road, Park Road and Faisal Avenue are not only being upgraded but also receiving special attention for lane markings, footpath repairs, median strips, green belts, and beautification of right-of-way areas. He added that all major roundabouts are being decorated, mega parks are being improved, and urban forest projects are being prioritized to reduce water and land pollution.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa was informed that under the road beautification project, horticulture and landscaping work is being carried out on model roads with seasonal flowers being planted at appropriate locations. Additionally, decorative planters and wooden signboards are being installed along these roads, which have been well-received by citizens. Modern lighting arrangements are also being ensured on these roads.

Chairman CDA directed that parks in every sector of Islamabad be fully upgraded, including walking tracks, swings, modern lighting, and horticultural enhancements.

He further instructed that permanent, aesthetically pleasing lighting be installed on all major roads, including Club Road, Faisal Avenue, Jinnah Avenue, Margalla Road, and Expressway. He also emphasized the need to improve the sprinkler system for plant maintenance to prevent damage due to water scarcity and ensure healthy growth within the stipulated time.
