Islamabad dated (22 May 2025:) A joint operation was carried out by Directorate of Building Control Authority (CDA), Encroachment wing, DMA, ICT in collaboration with District Administration. During the major operation at various sites in Zone-V, Islamabad including sealing of illegal buildings & dismantling of Structures on Public Land which was Jointly conducted by Directorate of Building Control (South), Directorate General of B&HC, CDA, Directorate of Enforcement, CDA, DMA, ICT Islamabad Administration & Islamabad Police.
In pursuance of the CDA Ordinance 1960 and the Building Control Regulations 2020 (as amended), the Directorate General of Building & Housing Control carried out a major enforcement operation in Zone-V, Islamabad. The operation targeted unauthorized constructions, illegal occupancies, and commercial encroachments on CDA/open land being undertaken without requisite approvals from the Authority.
During the operation, Multiple under-construction commercial buildings were sealed for initiating construction without prior approval from the Authority.
A hotel/commercial establishment was sealed for being operational without obtaining building plan approval, a completion certificate, and for non-payment of applicable charges. Several operational outlets and plazas were resealed after reopening premises that had previously been sealed by the Authority. Multiple containers, sheds, and structures were sealed, demolished, or dismantled for encroachment on CDA land or construction on public spaces without legal sanction, including unauthorized sports/recreational setups.
Clear warning notices were affixed at all sealed premises, explicitly stating that any attempt to trespass would attract legal action, including registration of FIR under the applicable law.
The operation reaffirmed Chairman CDA’s Chairman, Chief Commissioner and DG Civil Defence, Muhammad Ali Randhawa’s firm commitment to enforcing regulatory authority of CDA under the supervision of Faisal Naeem, DG Building Control CDA, Dr. Anum Fatima, DGG Enforcement/Director DMA, ICT, and District Administration ensuring that no unauthorized commercial activity, construction, or occupancy is carried out in violation of its bylaws and regulations within the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
