A high-level meeting was convened at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters under the chairmanship of Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad.
During the meeting, the progress on actions against illegal housing and cooperative societies was reviewed. Actions against unauthorised encroachments in the federal capital was also reviewed.

This follows directives from the Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to enforce a zero-tolerance policy on unauthorised developments.
During the meeting, officials updated the CDA Chairman on ongoing legal measures, including cancellations of layout plans and no objection certificates (NOCs) of societies initiating development without approval.
The CDA also sealed offices of several illegal housing societies, acting decisively in line with legal frameworks to protect urban planning integrity.
The authority published an updated list of legal and illegal housing societies on its website to increase public awareness and transparency. Citizens can verify any housing society’s status CDA’s Planning Wing or official website before making investments.
The CDA reiterated that no society is permitted to sell plots beyond the approved layout plans, and strict penalties will be imposed on those violating this rule.

The CDA also warned suppliers against providing construction materials to illegal housing societies, targeting all areas of unlawful development. The CDA Chairman said that protecting citizen interests remained paramount and that illegal housing schemes in Islamabad will not be tolerated.
He called for continued vigilance and community awareness to safeguard investments and preserve the city’s planned growth.
