Islamabad August: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has unveiled an ambitious plan to develop 50 new sports grounds and multiple modern sports complexes across Islamabad in a bid to promote healthy activities among residents.
According to a CDA spokesperson, the initiative will cover various sectors of the capital, ensuring residents have easy access to recreational and sporting facilities. The planned complexes will feature facilities for cricket, football, basketball, tennis, and indoor games, along with jogging tracks and fitness zones.
“The goal is to provide youth with safe, accessible spaces for sports and physical activities, which will also help in community engagement,” the spokesperson said.
Work on the first phase, involving site selection and design, is expected to begin later this year. The CDA has also indicated that public-private partnerships may be explored to expedite development and ensure world-class facilities.
Officials say the project aligns with the government’s broader vision of promoting sports and improving the quality of urban life in the federal capital.
