Islamabad, Aug 14, 2025: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved the non-collection of Right-of-Way (ROW) charges for the development and installation of IT and IT-related infrastructure, including fiber networks.

According to a CDA notification, this decision follows directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima, called the move a game changer for Pakistan’s broadband situation.

She expressed her excitement on X, saying, “It has begun! No more barriers to internet expansion! CDA has removed the right of way charges; next we it’ll be major federal entities. Portal already in place!”

This decision is expected to accelerate broadband rollout and strengthen Pakistan’s digital infrastructure.
