Islamabad, 13 May, 2025: In a significant step to update Islamabad’s infrastructure, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday has announced plans to upgrade Melody Food Street, and to develop a new food street in Blue Area.

These steps were taken to address worsening traffic jams, especially on weekends. The CDA chief directed officials to develop an effective traffic plan for major city centers.

The session was also attended by top CDA board members and officials, which focused on improving urban facilities and food quality standards across the federal capital.

Chairman Randhawa issued instructions for a complete upgrade of Melody Food Street. The plan includes improved lighting, organized parking, and strict hygiene inspections, which will be carried out in partnership with the Islamabad Food Authority.

“Melody Food Street is a landmark, and we want to ensure citizens enjoy high-quality food in a well-managed space,” Randhawa said.

Additionally, he also revealed plans that a new food street will be established in Blue Area.

These developments will feature landscaped surroundings, ambient lighting, and sufficient parking to accommodate a large number of visitors.

These developments are part of a broader effort to boost recreational spaces in Islamabad and provide residents with better public dining experiences.
