Islamabad, Nov 21: Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired a pivotal meeting focused on upgrading and modernizing the health infrastructure in the capital.
The meeting discussed the enhancement of Basic Health Units (BHUs), Rural Health Centers (RHCs), and other healthcare facilities. Attendees included CDA Members, the Executive Director of Capital Hospital, the District Health Officer (DHO), and other relevant officials.
The DHO presented a detailed briefing on the current state of healthcare services and outlined initiatives aimed at improving facilities for Islamabad’s residents. These included renovations of BHUs and RHCs, procurement of medical equipment, and recruitment of healthcare professionals.
Chairman Randhawa stressed the urgent need for accessible healthcare services and directed the launch of a comprehensive revamp plan for BHUs and RHCs.
He emphasized the importance of introducing a “one patient, one ID” system and developing a sustainable business model to generate revenue for maintaining healthcare facilities. He also highlighted the need for telemedicine services to improve access to healthcare.
The Executive Director of Capital Hospital provided updates on ongoing health initiatives, including the recruitment of specialists and the introduction of IT-based solutions like biometric attendance, electronic medical records, and transparent procurement systems to curb medicine pilferage.
Chairman Randhawa directed the exploration of solar energy for the hospital and emphasized outsourcing janitorial and maintenance services for operational efficiency. He reaffirmed his commitment to equipping healthcare facilities with modern resources, ensuring efficient services for Islamabad’s citizens.
This meeting marked a significant step toward improving healthcare infrastructure, with a focus on transparency, innovation, and better service delivery for the capital’s residents.
