Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has urged all stakeholders to play a proactive role in maximizing the potential of the population, ensuring that it becomes an invaluable asset to the nation.
In his message on the World Population Day on Thursday, the Chairman Senate said the day reminds us a great responsibility the nation has entrusted us with vis-a-vis welfare of masses and we must work collectively for their betterment and uplift.
A large population can indeed be a blessing in disguise. Through training and skills development, the population bulge, the 60 percent of which is youth , can be transformed into a valuable asset for the nation, he said.
The Chairman Senate said the population dividend as valuable human resource can support and fuel national development and progress. He pointed out that the population should be managed in proportion to available resources to provide necessary facilities and services to the masses.
