Islamabad, Nov 2: ChatGPT Takes on Google with New Search Feature
“ChatGPT Search,” an integrated web search function, is OpenAI’s most recent addition to ChatGPT. In addition to enabling users to initiate searches directly via a dedicated button, this new function also conducts internet searches automatically as necessary.
OpenAI claims that the system combines real-time access to current information, such as stock market data, news updates, sports results, and other real-time material, with natural language processing.
OpenAI has collaborated with numerous news organizations and data suppliers to improve this service. As previously stated, these partnerships have made it possible for different categories to have specific visual interfaces.
Source citations, including links to blog entries and news articles, are now accessible through ChatGPT. Users may now access these citations using a dedicated Sources button, which displays a list of references in a side panel. This feature was not included at launch.
According to OpenAI, there was a lot of collaboration with media organizations during the creation of this function. Furthermore, the present version of ChatGPT Search was greatly influenced by the knowledge gathered from the SearchGPT prototype.
In the future, OpenAI has revealed plans to keep improving the service. In particular, the business identified travel and shopping as important areas for upcoming enhancements.
The company has outlined a phased deployment schedule for remaining users. Enterprise and Education customers can expect access within the next few weeks, while free users will gain entry “over the coming months.”
