Islamabad, 13 May, 2025: A sudden scarcity of processed cheese has been reported across several major supermarkets in Islamabad, with shopkeepers citing unexpected bulk purchases by a leading Tehzeeb bakery chain as the main cause.

According to retail staff from multiple outlets, large quantities of Puck cheese were recently purchased by Tehzeeb Bakery, one of the capital’s most prominent bakery brands.

The unanticipated stock sweep has reportedly left shelves empty in many well-known grocery stores.

The shortage has also affected local bakeries and smaller food businesses that rely on regular cheese supplies for sandwiches, pizzas, and other prepared goods.

While there has been no official comment from Tehzeeb Bakery, grocery store managers in areas including F-6, F-10, and G-11 confirmed that representatives of the chain had procured unusually high volumes within a short span of time.

The development has led to visible gaps in the dairy sections of stores and limited availability of popular cheese-based items at eateries around the city.
