Islamabad, Aug 14, 2025: Chelsea continue to press on a transfer to seal Xavi Simons, though no deal has been found with RB Leipzig, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano finds. The west London club have already signed four promising recruits this summer- Jorrel Hato, Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro -but are not finished in the market.
There is a massive turnover in the attacking department, with both Noni Madueke and Joao Felix already out and Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku also likely to move on. So much so that Chelsea hopes to have up to eight or nine versatile attacking players rotating next season with Simons being a key target. Leipzig are demanding a fee of approximately 60 million pounds whilst Chelsea are willing to reach an agreement to a fee below 50 million pounds.
Manchester City are keeping an eye on a late move, though negotiations between Chelsea and Leipzig are on-going. Simons is both a creative and goal scorer with nice numbers last season netting 11 goals and contributing with 8 assists in 33 matches. Romano did confirm that negotiations are still in process without breakthrough.

In partnership with Simons, Chelsea are lining up Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United. The 21-year-old winger has already agreed personal terms, but the clubs are some way apart on valuation – United seeking a fee of £50m when Chelsea would value him more in the region of £30m.
The Blues are hoping to strike deals on the pair before the window slams shut as Fabrizio Romano underlines that the Blues are keen to bolster their front line. Being successful, Simons and Garnacho may become important reinforcements of the upcoming campaign.
