Islamabad 12 July: Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, officially launched the Chief Minister’s Youth Initiative “E-bike” program by giving a Jampur college student the first E-bike.
The Vehicle Inspection Regime for Private Vehicle Project was also launched by the Chief Minister at the event, and Nawawa Mobilizers Company was given the first manufacture license for e-loader rickshaws. She also said that the second phase of the E-bike project would begin, with solar-powered charging stations being installed in colleges and universities.
To increase student accessibility, the Punjab government would pay for Rs. 20,000 of the Rs. 40,000 down payment for the E-bikes. All of the more than 8,000 female students who applied for the program will get E-bikes. By giving students access to contemporary, environmentally friendly modes of transportation, the program seeks to empower students.
Along with computers, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the introduction of a scholarship scheme worth Rs. 25 billion to help individuals who cannot afford higher education.
She outlined the government’s initiatives to switch to electric vehicles in Punjab in order to make the province greener. An agreement has been reached to purchase environmentally friendly buses, and by December, 27 are anticipated to arrive.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the challenges caused by pollution in the environment and haze, pointing out that Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb is actively trying to solve these concerns. She also got briefings on the features of the E-road washer vehicles and electric loader rickshaws, as well as the larger electric buses project, before inspecting them.
Maryam Nawaz was present at Justice Alia Neelum’s oath-taking ceremony as the recently appointed Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court. Acknowledging the exceptional honor of having a female Chief Minister and female Chief Justice in Punjab, she thanked Justice Neelum.
The Chief Minister emphasized the value of fast internet for employment chances through e-commerce and freelance work during a meeting on digitalization. She pushed for digital technology initiatives to be implemented equally in rural and urban areas. Plans to extend free Wi-Fi services from Lahore to other districts were considered, along with PTCL’s high-speed internet and improved connectivity for public sector projects.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized on World Population Welfare Day that in order to secure prosperity, population increase and resource availability must be balanced. She emphasized that one important initiative to accurately capture household data is the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry.Along with expressing her sadness at the deaths of four workers in a coal mine in Chakwal, the Chief Minister also directed a thorough investigation into the disaster and offered her condolences to the bereaved families.
