Islamabad, May 19, 2025: In a striking display of solidarity, China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) has showcased a J-10C fighter jet adorned with Rafale kill marks — a powerful nod to the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) recent aerial triumphs over India.
The bold move not only underscores deep-rooted Pakistan-China defense ties but also serves as a calculated message to New Delhi amid ongoing regional tensions.
A PLAAF J-10C jet recently caught global attention after being spotted with kill marks symbolizing the downing of six Indian Air Force (IAF) assets — including three Rafale jets, one Su-30MKI, one MiG-29, and an Israeli-made Heron drone.
These markings pay tribute to the Pakistan Air Force’s combat successes in past aerial engagements, where it decisively countered Indian incursions.
Defense analysts and observers on platforms like Twitter and military forums believe the move was a deliberate gesture to honor Pakistan’s aerial prowess.
One of PAF’s J-10CE fighters, a Chinese export variant, already sports a Rafale kill mark, adding to the symbolism.

The shared imagery reflects growing defense collaboration and strategic alignment between Beijing and Islamabad.
Military experts see this as a calculated maneuver to boost morale and regional deterrence. “It’s more than just paint on a fuselage — it’s a message of power projection and alliance,” said retired Air Marshal Hassan Siddiqui.
The timing of this gesture is particularly significant, as India continues to bolster its air defense with high-end technology like the Rafale.
This development may also influence the regional arms race and aerial tactics, particularly with China and Pakistan leveraging joint exercises and technology sharing.
