Pakistan China investment received a fresh boost as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured full support for Chinese companies to establish Special Economic Zones (SEZs) across the country. He made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation from Shandong Xinxu Group Corporation, led by Chairman Hou Jianxin in Islamabad.
The prime minister said Pakistan and China have always supported each other and emphasized that his government is committed to expanding bilateral economic cooperation. He invited Chinese industries to explore opportunities in multiple sectors including maritime, shipbreaking and ship recycling.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the country potential in shipbreaking and ship recycling and said the government will provide all necessary facilities to ensure smooth business operations within SEZs. He encouraged investors to take advantage of Pakistan industrial potential and emerging markets.

Chairman Hou Jianxin thanked the government for its support and showed interest to establish a maritime industrial complex in Pakistan. The company intends to build a green shipbreaking yard following environmentally responsible practices. Hou also noted opportunities in fishing, fish processing, and date processing, aiming to boost trade and industrial collaboration.
