Islamabad, Dec 25: During a ceremony in Lahore, the Chinese Consul General, Zhao Shiren, presented the “China Consulate General Friendship Award 2024” to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The award was also given to Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain, along with 18 other distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to enhancing the Pakistan-China relationship.
In his speech, Consul General Zhao highlighted the importance of the ongoing collaboration between Pakistan and China, emphasizing that 2025 will mark a new chapter in their bilateral ties. He stressed the shared future in nation-building and socioeconomic development, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, which require continued effort and commitment.
Zhao also reflected on the recent high-level visits between the two countries, including the exchanges between Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as well as Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s successful visit to China. These interactions have not only strengthened the relationship but have also brought new energy and momentum to the partnership.
