Islamabad, JULY24: To discuss Chinese investments in Pakistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met on Tuesday with a group from Hengeng Trading Company, headed by Chairman Zhang Bin.
The Prime Minister was briefed by the delegation from Hengeng Trading Company about their investments in livestock, agricultural, and medical. They are investing fifty million dollars to build a state-of-the-art slaughterhouse in Gwadar. In the Gwadar Free Zone, the Hengeng Trading Company also processes pharmaceuticals for sale to China. While praising these investments, the prime minister also emphasized the significance of the recent business-to-business agreements he signed while in China.
Shehbaz urged the Gwadar Port Authority to assist Chinese businesses and provide a steady supply of utilities in the Gwadar Free Zone, expressing his government’s wish to learn from China’s agricultural achievements.
Senior government officials, including Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervez Malik, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, also attended the meeting.
