Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain met Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren at the Chinese Consulate on Monday to discuss ongoing and new Chinese investments in the province, alongside security arrangements for Chinese nationals.
Shafay highlighted that a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer is setting up a mobile production plant in Faisalabad Industrial Estate, while another firm is establishing a lithium battery plant in Punjab. He also noted that a Chinese investor group has shown interest in launching the country’s first pet food manufacturing facility and an organic fertilizer plant in the province.
The minister assured that Chinese investors and their projects are fully protected in Punjab, adding that the industrial estate’s security wall under FIEDMC will be completed within 15 days, along with a community center.

Consul General Zhao Shiren praised Punjab’s investment-friendly climate and confirmed that Chinese companies are expanding operations in the province. He said the Consulate will encourage investors to explore opportunities in the pet food sector and announced that a delegation would soon visit FIEDMC and Quaid-i-Azam Business Park.
