Islamabad, 15 May, 2025:  Punjab Farmers are set to benefit from a series of major relief measures unveiled by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to ease agricultural costs and improve productivity.

The announcements reflect the provincial government’s commitment to supporting the farming community through expanded financial access and modernised equipment.

Interest-Free Loans Doubled for Punjab Farmers

At the heart of the new initiative is a significant increase in interest-free loans provided through the Kisan Card scheme. Punjab Farmers will now be eligible to access up to Rs 3 lakh in financing double the previous limit of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Up to 95% Subsidy on Solar Tube Wells

In a move to reduce dependency on expensive electricity and diesel, the chief minister also announced a substantial subsidy up to 95% for the solarization of agricultural tube wells.

This step is expected to help Punjab Farmers cut operational costs while promoting the use of clean energy in rural areas.

SMS and Helpline for Unregistered Farmers

To ensure that benefits reach all segments of the farming community, a dedicated SMS and helpline system will soon be introduced for those who have yet to obtain a Kisan Card.

This will allow non-registered Punjab Farmers to access key information and apply for future schemes with greater ease.

Green Tractors and Machinery Access Expanded

As part of long-term mechanisation efforts, the provincial government will distribute subsidised green tractors to 20,000 eligible farmers in the upcoming year.
