Islamabad, July 21, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given the green signal for a new Children Hospital in Bahawalpur. The hospital will be set up near the Civil Hospital and will aim to improve healthcare facilities for children in the region.

The announcement came during a meeting with Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar. The Chief Minister asked for a complete project plan and said that the hospital should meet the needs of local families. She added that providing better health services for children is one of her top goals.

Deputy Speaker Channar welcomed the decision and praised Maryam Nawaz’s focus on health and development. He said the new Children’s Hospital would be a major step toward better care for young patients in South Punjab.

He also appreciated the CM’s other health projects like Field Hospitals, Clinic on Wheels, and the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic Project. These, he said, are helping to change the way healthcare works in Punjab.

The CM said her government is working hard to bring South Punjab into the mainstream of development. She stressed that public welfare and equal growth across all regions are key parts of her plan.

Channar ended by saying that under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, Punjab is moving ahead with people-first policies.
