Islamabad, Sep 17: On World Ozone Protection Day, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz unveiled a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening environmental safeguards across the province.
In her statement, she announced that the Provincial Cabinet has endorsed the Comprehensive Climate Resilient Punjab Vision and Action Plan 2024.
This forward-thinking plan, the first for Punjab, is set to tackle key environmental issues, emphasizing improved flood management, enhanced ecosystem infrastructure, food security, and measures to reduce the impact of heat waves.
In her message, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted the government’s strong resolve to implement all necessary actions for environmental protection. “This Action Plan marks a major advancement toward creating a more resilient Punjab,” she stated. “It demonstrates our dedication to confronting climate challenges directly and preserving our natural resources for the next generations.”
A central feature of the plan is the introduction of a new solar panel program, designed to promote environmental sustainability.
The launch of this comprehensive action plan underscores the Punjab Government’s proactive stance on environmental stewardship and its commitment to fostering a greener, more sustainable future for the province.
