The first cardiac hospital in the city, a burns center, and a Rs. 18 billion Metrobus were among the significant initiatives for Gujranwala that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz unveiled. Inflation control efforts and the ‘Pink Wheel’ project for women’s safety were also highlighted.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz unveiled a number of significant projects for Gujranwala on Thursday with the goal of improving the city’s services and infrastructure. The Gujranwala Metrobus Project, which is valued at Rs. 18 billion and includes the city’s first cutting-edge cardiac hospital as well as a new burns unit, is the main attraction.
She reiterated a pledge made by the current Prime Minister and former Chief Minister by ordering the urgent building and repair of several city roads during her visit.During her visit, she oversaw the quick building and maintenance of several city highways, fulfilling a 2018 pledge made by then chief minister and current prime minister Shehbaz Sharif over the metrobus project.
In addition, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the need for the Nigar Chowk Stadium to be completed immediately and started making improvements to the city’s parks. She directed officials to improve WASA, make sure the city’s drains are clean, and expand the number of field hospitals and mobile clinics.
She presented the “Pink Wheel” initiative, which aims to assist women in Gujranwala. In order to ensure prompt resolution of police affairs, female police officers will respond to complaints on pink motorcycles. The CM also prioritized lowering the cost of necessities and reining in inflation.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized the significance of proper drainage during the rainy season and routine road repair in rural regions. She demanded that wheelbarrows be parked in an organized manner and that manhole covers, lighting, and water filtering systems be installed. There will be a strong continuation of the current operation against drug dealers in Gujranwala. During Muharram, the government will supply food and beverages.
She gave the police credit for their efforts in putting an end to extortion and kite flying. In addition, the CM held meetings with PML-N candidates and assembly members to go over a range of topics and offer advice.
Maryam Nawaz received an update on Gujranwala’s existing municipal services and development projects. Participants in the meeting included Khurram Dastagir Khan, the province minister Sohaib Ahmad Malik, the chief secretary, the commissioner, and members of the national and provincial assemblies.
