The development plan also includes the Glass Train project and the establishment of a state-of-the-art hospital to boost tourism-related infrastructure.
Steering Committee for Efficient Execution
To oversee and ensure the successful execution of the restoration, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has been appointed as the head of the steering committee for the Murree Development Project.
“We will refurbish historical pathways, enhance cleanliness, and introduce advanced facilities for tourists,” said Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Preserving Murree’s Architectural Heritage
The initiative will also focus on restoring historic buildings and shops along Mall Road to their original architectural grandeur. To maintain aesthetic harmony, all advertising boards will follow a standardized design.
Additionally, the installation of vintage-style street lighting will enhance the ambiance, bringing back the town’s traditional appeal.
As part of the beautification process, a public square (Crossroads) will be developed to enrich Murree’s historic character, along with the construction of modern washrooms to enhance convenience for tourists and residents alike.
This comprehensive plan is set to redefine Murree as a world-class travel destination, combining heritage preservation with modern amenities to create an unmatched visitor experience.
