Islamabad, July 15, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif made a surprise visit to several rain-affected areas in Lahore, including Misri Shah and Lakshmi Chowk, to inspect drainage operations and sanitation conditions after heavy monsoon showers.

During her unannounced inspection, CM Maryam Nawaz reviewed the performance of WASA and other municipal bodies. She instructed officials to speed up the removal of rainwater from city roads to prevent traffic blockages and public inconvenience. “Swift action and full coordination are essential to restore normal life,” she directed, expressing dissatisfaction over delays in some areas.

The Chief Minister also monitored ongoing efforts under the Suthra Punjab cleanliness campaign. She stressed that all departments must remain on high alert during the monsoon season. “Cleanliness, drainage, and smooth traffic flow are top priorities. Any negligence will not be tolerated,” she added.

CM Maryam Nawaz directed that round-the-clock monitoring be ensured and that field staff remain active until all water-logged areas are cleared. Her direct engagement reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to maintaining urban infrastructure and citizen safety during seasonal rains.
