Islamabad, Feb 16: Pakistan is set to experience cold and dry weather today, with mountainous regions bracing for intense cold conditions during nighttime, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The forecast indicates that Murree, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northwestern Balochistan may see light rain and snowfall over the mountains. Meanwhile, Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to remain cold with partly cloudy skies.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), most districts will witness cold and dry conditions, while northern areas like Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Bagram, and Shangla could experience partial cloud cover, light rain, and snowfall. Nighttime temperatures in these regions are expected to drop significantly.
Across Punjab, the weather is expected to be cold with cloudy skies, with Murree and Galyat likely receiving light rain and snowfall. In Sindh, dry weather is forecasted for most districts, while Balochistan will see cold conditions, particularly in Quetta, Ziarat, Qilla Abdullah, Chaman, and Pishin, where gusty winds, light rain, and mountain snowfall are expected.
For the Kashmir region, partly cloudy conditions with cold weather will prevail, whereas light rain and snowfall are expected in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan. With temperatures expected to drop further, residents, especially in mountainous and northern areas, are advised to take precautionary measures against the cold.
