Islamabad, JULY28: To fight climate change and lessen its detrimental impacts, Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud launched the Billion Tree Plus program. According to the information, he started the effort with a ceremony at the Commissioner’s House in Peshawar, where he planted a sapling. Speaking at the event, Commissioner Mehsud emphasized how the environment will be greatly improved by the saplings planted as part of the Billion Tree Plus program.
750,000 saplings will be planted as part of this initiative during the monsoon season in each of the five districts that make up the Peshawar Division: Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mohmand Tribal District, and Khyber District. To guarantee the success of this endeavor, special teams made up of District Forest Officers and Deputy Commissioners have been established.
The significance of increasing tree planting was emphasized by Commissioner Mehsud as a means of addressing climate change. He promised that he would personally oversee the campaign to ensure its successful conclusion and gave special instructions to all Deputy Commissioners to ensure the campaign’s success.
