ISLAMABAD, JULY14: The Competition Appellate Tribunal affirmed the Competition Commission of Pakistan’s (CCP) conclusions. In response to an appeal filed by M/s NFC Employees Cooperative Housing Society.
The society’s members protested to the CCP in 2016 about not having enough options for cable television. They had no choice but to become subscribers of MC Networks, the only provider of cable television networks.
By giving exclusivity to a cable service provider and limiting residents’ options, the Commission’s order fined the NFC Employees Co-operative Housing Society Limited Rs. 1 million for violating Sections 4(2)(a), 4(2)(b), and 4(2)(d) read with Section 4(1) of the Competition Act, 2010.Regarding an appeal that M/s NFC Employees Cooperative Housing Society submitted
